Welcome at Fuzhou in Fujian

Fuzhou (福州; Fúzhōu), also known as Foochow, Fuchow or Fuh-chau in earlier Western documents, is the capital and the largest prefecture-level city of Fujian (福建) province.

Fuzhou is also referred to as Rongcheng which means “city of banyan trees”, because of the many Banyan trees that dot the city landscape.

The city is situated on the north bank of the estuary of Fujian’s largest river, the Min River, which gives access to the interior and to the neighboring provinces of Jiangxi and Zhejiang boat.

The City of Banyan boasts a fair number of beautiful historical sights, like the Sanfang Qixiang, a cluster of ancient resident buildings dated from late Jin Dynasty, the Hualin Temple, the Dizang Temple, the Xichan Temple, the Bai Ta (White Pagoda).

Natural scenic spots include the fairy-tale like West Lake (an artificial lake built in 282 AD), Gu Shan (鼓山) (Drum Mountain), and the Fuzhou National Forest Park.
